Plane crash in Bangladesh leaves 19 dead and more than 50 injured after military plane crashes

A Bangladesh Air Force training plane crashed on a school campus in Dhaka on Monday, leaving at least 19 people dead and more than 50 injured , local authorities reported.
The accident occurred shortly after noon on the premises of Milestone School and College , located in the northern area of Uttara , when the aircraft fell on the educational facility , causing a large fire.

“ The Bangladesh Air Force's F-7 BGI training aircraft crashed in Uttara. The aircraft took off at 1:06 p.m. ,” the army's public relations department said in an official statement.
Videos of the crash posted on social media show a dense column of smoke rising from a green area, while flames consumed part of the building and the remains of the aircraft.
Firefighters responded to the scene and fought the fire, which caused considerable structural damage , including a hole in a concrete wall.
They will open an investigationBidhan Sarker , head of the burn unit at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital , said that among the victims were underage students: “ A third-grade student was brought dead and three others, aged 12, 14 and 40, were admitted with severe burns.”
Most of the injured suffered second- and third-degree burns and were taken to the National Institute of Burns and Plastic Surgery , where they are receiving medical attention.

Acting Prime Minister Muhammad Yunus assured that an investigation will be opened to clarify the causes of the accident and that full assistance will be provided to the affected families.
The accident comes just over a month after the tragic crash of an Air India flight into a university residence in Ahmedabad, India, killing 260 people in what was described as the world's worst air disaster in more than a decade.
