It is now known which city will host the Eurovision Song Contest in 2026 and when it will be held.

Vienna has finally been selected as the host city for the 70th Eurovision Song Contest, the final of which will be held on May 16, beating the other candidate, the Alpine city of Innsbruck , according to the Austrian broadcaster ORF on Wednesday.
The Austrian capital, which hosted the event in 1967 and 2015, submitted its bid under the motto "Europe, shall we dance?" and had offered the Wiener Stadthalle, a multi-purpose hall with capacity for up to 16,000 people , just 3 kilometers from the city center, as the venue.
Austrian singer JJ's victory with his song 'Wasted Love' at the last edition in Basel has once again positioned Austria as the host of a musical event that this year was watched by 166 million television viewers.
Melody represented Spain in the last edition and placed 24th with the song "Esa Diva." The Sevillian gave a strong performance that was not supported by the professional juries or by the televoting, a scoring method that was once again questioned.
Eurovision 2025 was marked by controversy over Israel's participation, which intensified after the contest. Israeli candidate Yuval Raphael obtained the highest score in the popular voting system: 297 points, while receiving only 60 points from the professional jury. This resulted in her finishing in second place behind Austria, the winner in the final minute of voting.
RTVE has requested that the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) open a debate on televoting to assess whether this method is the "most appropriate" for future editions.
