An 88-year-old man stopped two burglars from robbing his home by shooting them away.

An 88-year-old man prevented two burglars from entering his home this Sunday. He did so after being threatened by the suspects, who were trying to force a door into the house. Without hesitation, the retiree grabbed a gun and fired .
The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning at a home located on 24th Street, between 124th and 125th, in the Villa Progreso neighborhood, in the Buenos Aires city of Berisso, when the man heard noises in the back and, upon approaching, noticed the presence of the strangers .
Upon seeing him, the suspects began shouting and threatening him while damaging the structure, including the windows. But the man, far from being frightened, grabbed an old .22-caliber revolver he had stashed away and fired it to scare them off.
The deterrent shots allowed him to accomplish his objective of removing the burglars from his home. In fact, they escaped without taking any belongings and, apparently, without suffering any injuries.
Alerted by a 911 call, patrol cars from the Berisso Patrol Command approached the house and searched the area to try to find the suspects, but were unsuccessful.
On the other hand, at the retiree's home, the agents seized the TALA brand weapon , a silver frame with a black plastic grip, loaded with five bullets and a spent shell casing. The homeowner reportedly did not have the proper documentation to prove its legal ownership.
The investigation into the incident was under the responsibility of the UFI No. 5, headed by prosecutor Juan Pablo Mennucci.
In order to clarify the incident, forensic examinations were ordered at the house and the area's security cameras were reviewed to, at the very least, identify the suspects.
