"It's a semi-final, you're 90 minutes away from the final, that's all you need to know. We can do something great for the club. It's going to be a really cool game, very special. We firmly believe we can do something special," Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice said at Tuesday's press conference.
On Wednesday evening (9 p.m., LIVE! on kicker), the Gunners face a tough challenge in Paris, where they must overcome the 0-1 first-leg defeat against PSG. It's no easy task, as the French are having a great season and are currently one of the best teams in Europe. "PSG are very good with the ball, sometimes you have to suffer," Rice says.
Arsenal are aiming to reach the final for the second time in their history (after a 2-1 loss to Barcelona in 2006) and win the trophy for the first time. "We're here to make history," says coach Mikel Arteta , adding: "We have a great opportunity tomorrow. We're very clear and have learned a lot from the first game. There are only nuances between the two teams. We have to be the best version of ourselves and win the game."
"We have to take such steps"And somehow, the Gunners are finally on their way to winning a major title again. The London club finished second in the Premier League the past two years – and this season, they're aiming for runner-up status.
"We've shown that we can handle big situations. Tomorrow is the next big step for this team. We're a young team, we want to be one of the best," says Rice, who would love to help with another stunning free-kick goal like he did against Real. The midfielder demands: "We have to take steps like this to achieve this. We've been close to winning the Premier League in recent years. The next step for us is to win titles."
