Fans only allowed to leave at 5 a.m.? Bayern Munich files a complaint with UEFA.

Ahead of the Champions League clash between PSG and FC Bayern, the record Bundesliga champions are facing trouble with UEFA. The reason: police measures against the traveling Munich fans.

FC Bayern Munich faces a Champions League top match against defending champions Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday evening (9 p.m. CET, LIVE! on kicker). The clash between group leaders PSG, who sit ahead of Bayern Munich in the Champions League standings only by virtue of having scored one more goal, is something to be savored – in addition to the primary objective, of course, of winning the game. Among other things, FCB coach Vincent Kompany expressed his desire for a " rock 'n' roll " atmosphere for the upcoming duel after Saturday's 3-0 league victory against runners-up Bayer Leverkusen .
Meeting point for fan busesHowever, the fun could be dampened for some of the fans in the run-up to this top match. The reason: On Monday, the Paris police prefecture issued a general order regulating travel to the Parc des Princes stadium.
The decree stipulates that all fan buses must assemble at a tollbooth outside the city before the match, and all other Bayern fans must travel to the stadium exclusively by public transport. After the match, the supporters are expected to return to their original means of transport. The potentially doubly unfortunate aspect of this is that, due to official regulations and the legally mandated driving hours for drivers, the fan buses will not be able to leave Paris until around 5 a.m.
In light of these very short-notice police actions, FC Bayern has lodged a protest at the UEFA meeting. Furthermore, they intend to pursue further legal options. This was announced in an official club statement on Monday evening. The Munich side is also receiving support from PSG, the French top club, which has expressed its solidarity with their German opponents.
"For FC Bayern, the short notice of the order is unacceptable, not least because, as with all games of the German record champions, all decisive information has been transparently available for weeks," FC Bayern wrote in its officially published statement to UEFA.
