Research Minister Dorothee Bär sees the chairmen of the CDU and CSU, Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Bavarian Minister-President Markus Söder, as pronounced feminists.

Bär praises Merz and Söder as pronounced feminists
The CSU politician told the newspapers of the Funke Media Group (Thursday editions) that Merz had always been "a very, very strong supporter" of all women's and family issues. He had "provided her with tremendous support" when she initiated a paradigm shift in prostitution policy within the CDU/CSU alliance.
Furthermore, Merz was a keynote speaker at an event she organized on the topic of "Sex as a Weapon of War." When asked where she would place Merz on a feminism scale of 1 to 10, Bär replied: "Eleven."
Söder even received a "12" from Bär.
The CSU leader has "always been someone who strongly supported women in the party." Four of his five deputies in the CSU are women. Söder always makes a point of ensuring that women are appointed as ministers or state secretaries when forming governments. Furthermore, he is pushing for quotas within the party. Therefore, she "has absolutely nothing to complain about, quite the contrary." Before becoming Research Minister, Bär was responsible for family issues as deputy chair of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group.
