German bonds: price gains

FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) - The prices of German government bonds rose slightly on Wednesday. The leading Euro Bund future contract rose by 0.15 percent to 132.65 points. The yield on ten-year federal bonds fell to 2.56 percent.
Economic data from Germany had little impact on the bond market. Consumer sentiment remains gloomy. According to a study by the Nuremberg institutes GfK and NIM, economic expectations increased in February, but income expectations and the propensity to buy declined. The propensity to save also increased.
Disappointing figures from the US real estate market barely moved the market. Sales of new homes fell significantly more than expected in January. Recently, a series of rather weak economic data was published. The financial markets are currently waiting for the quarterly results of the chip company Nvidia. The figures could also move the bond market./jsl/he
