Sprott shares: Profit figures continue to rise

Sprott Inc. reported impressive results for fiscal year 2024, with a significant increase in assets under management (AUM) to $31.5 billion, representing 10% year-on-year growth. Despite a slight quarter-on-quarter decline in the fourth quarter of 2024, this marks the seventh consecutive year of double-digit AUM growth for the precious metals and commodity investment specialist. Net inflows of $698 million, mainly in physical trusts and uranium and critical materials ETFs, were particularly encouraging. Net income rose 21% to $11.7 million ($0.46 per share) in the fourth quarter and reached $49.3 million ($1.94 per share) for the full year, an increase of 18%. Administrative fees increased 17% year-over-year to $155.3 million, while net fee income increased 22% to $144.6 million.
expansion of the investment spectrum
In parallel with the strong financial results, Sprott is also active in strategic investments. Eric Sprott, one of the major shareholders, recently acquired 3,571,400 units of Borealis Mining Company for almost $2 million through his company 2176423 Ontario Ltd. With this investment, he increased his stake in Borealis to 7.5% of the outstanding shares on a non-diluted basis. At the same time, Sprott is making progress in diversifying its portfolio in the area of critical raw materials and expanding its streaming and royalty activities. One example of this is the recently concluded amendment of a royalty agreement with Bunker Hill Mining Corp., which expanded the scope of the royalties to additional areas in the Bunker Hill Mine area in Idaho. Sprott CEO Whitney George emphasized the company's strategic focus on physical precious metal holdings as well as critical materials from "friendly" countries as important growth drivers for the future.
