Emre Belözoğlu: "Het is triest dat we zijn uitgeschakeld"

Antalyaspor en Beşiktaş stonden tegenover elkaar in de derde en laatste wedstrijd van de Ziraat Turkse bekergroep D. De uitploeg Beşiktaş versloeg haar tegenstander dankzij doelpunten van Arroyo en Rafa Silva en plaatste zich voor de kwartfinales.

Het enige doelpunt voor de rood-witten kwam op naam van Deni Milosevic, terwijl de thuisploeg de groep op de 4e plaats eindigde met 3 punten en al in de groepsfase afscheid nam van hun bekeravontuur. De zwart-witte uitploeg won alle 3 de wedstrijden in hun poule en mocht de vreugde ervaren dat ze met 9 punten doorgingen naar de kwartfinales.

Na de wedstrijd gaf Antalyaspor-coach Emre Belözoğlu een verklaring af.

I think we showed a reaction towards the end of the first half before the second half. We tried to create positions. We entered the game better in the second half. I think we also turned the momentum to our own side with the player changes. But we have to say it here. The player quality is very high. Beşiktaş won 5 of the last 7 games. They only have one draw with us. They also have one loss, as far as I know. But no matter what, my players tried to oppose Beşiktaş's game, which has been getting stronger and increasing in the recent period, as much as they could. Ik ben blij met hun strijd. Uiteraard begonnen we de wedstrijd met spelers die we minder speelkansen hadden gegeven, in plaats van spelers die tweeënhalve dag eerder nog hadden gespeeld.
