American Express Travel to Debut Travel App for Bookings

American Express Travel plans to launch its first dedicated travel mobile app, bringing together hotel and flight booking capabilities with other perks and tools, such as wait times for its popular airport lounges. The move comes as the travel agency seeks to retain customer loyalty in an increasingly competitive digital travel market.
The app will be available on iOS starting September 18, with Android to follow in the coming weeks, the company said Monday.
“Last month, we did a consumer survey where 81% of respondents said they wish there were an all-in-one app that paired booking capabilities with travel inspiration,” Audrey Hendley, president of American Express Travel, told Skift.
