Canada wins FIBA 3x3 Basketball Women's Series Final for record 3rd time

The Canadian women's 3x3 basketball team won a record third FIBA Women's Series Final on Sunday in Shanghai.
Paige Crozon of Humboldt, Sask., Katherine Plouffe of Edmonton, Saicha Grant-Allen of Hamilton and Cassandra Brown of Vernon, B.C., defeated Azerbaijan 21-12 to claim the 2025 title.
Crozon led the way with a game-high nine points, going three-for-three from two-point range.
Brown scored six including the game winner, while Plouffe had a game-high five rebounds to go with three points.
Canada wreaked havoc from two-point range to take an early 10-2 lead and overcame strong performances from Alexandra Mollenhauer and Brianna Fraser to seal the victory.

The Canadians won two of their three pool games to directly qualify for the semifinals, which saw them beat Spain 21-11.
They also defeated Azerbaijan 21-13 in their opener, followed by a 16-15 loss to CS Rapid and a 17-9 win over the Netherlands' under-25 team.
Canada won back-to-back titles in 2022 and 2023 before finishing third last year.
