Apple accused of stealing technology. Legal battle for compensation continues

A federal court in Austin, Texas, dismissed the lawsuit filed by fintech company Fintiv against technology giant Apple in its entirety. One of the arguments for dismissing the claim for damages was the passage of time and Fintiv's lack of prior action.
The case concerns the illegal use of solutions that allow contactless payments to be made in the Apple Pay application.
The complainant claims that the most important functions of Apple Pay are based on technology developed by CorFire, a company acquired by Fintiv in 2014.
During the talks, which took place in 2011-2012, confidentiality agreements were signed with Apple , but a purchase agreement was not subsequently finalized.
After a few years, the solutions of that time were used in systems that run on iPhones, iPads, as well as Apple Watch and MacBook computers.
The case has now moved to federal court in Atlanta and includes allegations of violating trade secrets and federal and Georgia RICO laws.
