Labour sunk to new level of snakery – and it was our bravest who bore insult
Just when you think this Labour Government couldn’t stoop any lower it assumes a whole new level of snakery. Having promised it would fund one last D-Day salute in Normandy for our few remaining Second World War veterans after the Express highlighted their plight, it suddenly – and cruelly – said it wouldn’t. This wasn’t just an insult to those heroes who risked their lives for this country, it was an insult to the fighters who never came home.
But no sooner had Labour dropped its sickening bombshell it U-turned again – largely thanks to being shamed by this newspaper – and said it WOULD fund all costs. I’m hoping some rich benefactor who understands the sacrifices these men made will step forward and pay for this trip so the vets can tell our shabby government to stick its money where the sun don’t shine!

Was anyone else irritated having to repeatedly watch Katie Perry bobbing about in space? Firstly, she made the whole trip about her. Second, she’s one of those self-righteous, hypocritical Hollywood celebrities who’s always banging on about saving the planet. So I’m just wondering how much carbon dioxide her little space trip racked up, and how many trees she and her celebrity mates will have to plant to counteract it?

Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy is trying to justify posing in Elle Magazine this week in clothes that cost an eye watering £3,000. She said the reason she was modelling a £1,295 camel coat, a £750 black blazer and a £625 silk shirt was because: “I’m helping showcase something Britain is really good at. Fashion is so very good at shaping and interpreting the country and the world we live in.”
Yeah, yeah, yeah… but what we want to know is did she get the clothes for free after the shoot? And if she did – has she declared them? Because Nandy got into trouble last year for borrowing clothes from a luxury fashion brand having said just the day before she’d never accepted free clothes. Funny how power warps the socialist’s sense of what’s right and wrong!

Oscar-winning actress Cate Blanchett says she’s seriously thinking about quitting acting. In an interview this week she said: “My family roll their eyes every time I say it, but I mean it. I’m serious about giving up acting.”
Oh please, no. Cate is one of the few Hollywood actresses we never tire of seeing because she plays every role with conviction, authority and integrity. She’s not the least bit up herself (even though she’s one of Hollywood’s great beauties). There’s never been a whiff of scandal around her and she shies away from unnecessary publicity.

Prince Harry is upset that his father, King Charles, isn’t responding to his calls and is keeping him in the dark over his cancer treatment.
Is it any bloody wonder? Charles is clearly terrified that if Harry finds out details about his illness they’ll be splattered across the US media. The petulant Prince simply can’t be trusted, which is 100% his own fault. Charles has handled his cancer with the utmost dignity and has purposely kept the specifics secret so he doesn’t want his traitorous son blabbing details about it for money.
And just why IS Harry – who wanted nothing more to do with his family – suddenly bombarding his father with emails and letters? I’m guessing it’s because he’s already sold every intimate detail he had about his family and he needs more because the $100million Netflix contract is up for renewal this year.

A new study says couples are cheating on each other – by watching Netflix’s series alone that they’ve vowed to watch together. When I read this, I screamed because The Husband does it all the time. We start something together, he or I have to go away for work, and we promise not to watch any more until we get back. Like a mug, I follow the rules and don’t watch even though I’m desperate to. Then he comes back and says without a scintilla of guilt: “Oh I had to watch it I couldn’t resist.” It really is grounds for divorce!
