The 6 Best Bluetooth Shower Speakers That Can Get Wet and Keep Rocking

- Clip is convenient for a shower
- Great waterproofing
- Large buttons make it easy to control music without your phone
- Plenty of bright color options
- Sound could be better, but that's limited by size
- The clip can be a bit tough to detach
We've already written at length about why we love JBL's audio products. Even when the earbuds are small, they have big sound. Same can be said for this speaker. The highs are crisp enough to cut through the noise of a shower. The bass is big enough to fill the space, but it's obviously not going to shake the house. The waterproofing is great, and there are plenty of color options to match whatever look you're going for.
Also, we have to shout out the buttons on the speaker! They're massive! Perfect for when you're in the shower, away from your phone, and you want to skip, replay, or pause. It makes a huge difference in the shower when you have soap in your eyes.

For as much as I love my brand new third gen Beosound A1 (and I do), the improvements over this second-gen are not huge. For what is currently an extra $225, I can't justify asking you to pay the new thing tax for that. Especially when, for $175, the 2020 Besound A1 is still a rockin' choice, certainly the most stylish on this list.
Of course, we love Bang & Olufsen for its commitment to quality across every item the brand puts its name on. In this case, the book can be judged by its cover. It's a beautifully designed speaker that will fit into your bathroom without looking awkwardly tech-y or out of place. And for as good as it looks, it sounds twice as good. Trust us on this one.

If it ain't broke don't fix it. That's how we feel about our SoundLInk Micro. Even if we have to keep holding on to the last Micro-USB cable known to man to keep it charged—which you do every five to six hours of playback—it's totally worth it.
We love the form factor of this speaker, too. If this little speaker is up to the task of entertaining an outdoor party—especially with its crisp, balanced sound and deep bass—it's certainly up to supplying you with immersive music while you shower. The SoundLink Micro is fully waterproof and has a strap you can use to hang it up.
Finally, there are a few crevices on the back that we found a bit tricky. It's waterproof, but not rated for dust resistance. So if you get dirt or grime in there, make sure you clean it thoroughly.

If you're already tapped into the Sonos ecosystem, you won't need much convincing here. The Roam 2 is the brand's premiere waterproof smart speaker. It's not as small as some of these other options, but it's perfectly portable. Great for the beach and pool parties as well.
If you aren't already Sonos pilled, believe us when we say the audio is crisp, the companion app is actually useful, and the diminutive, streamlined design is ideal for any trip—yes, even including trips to the bathroom for long, hot showers accompanied by your favorite soundtrack or mixtape. The bass will be booming, if that's your thing. Or your podcast hosts will sound crystal clear, like you've never heard them in a hundred hours of listening. You get the gist.

The theme of this list is old reliable. The Boom 3 is another speaker that has been on the market for years, but that's precisely how we know it will last you the next four years worth of showers.
This speaker is not going to be phased by a little shower water splash. It's pretty darn waterproof. Not that it matters, because with a full 360 degree sound field, chances that you even need to put it in the shower are slim. No, you'll be fine placing it outside and let the sounds of your summer jams fully envelope the bathroom.

- Comes attached to a showerhead
- Simple setup

Kohler knows its way around a bathroom fixture. A speaker, not so much. So it leaned on Harman Kardon—the Rolls-Royce of high-fidelity speaker manufacturers—to supply that technology inside its Moxie showerhead. It's the most literal take on "shower speaker" on this list, and you'll feel the playlist blast from above, just like in a club—a real mood-swaying experience. It's a unique pick but one we couldn't help but include.
It's a bit more flawed than some other picks, but guess what? We loved the sound, and the fact that it comes from the showerhead makes it perfect for this one scenario. Showering. The music is directed at you, and the speaker is in the shower itself. It doesn't get more convenient than that ... with a caveat.
Our only gripe was with charging. It's tough, because every model on this list requires charging, some with Micro-USB, others with USB-C. But with this one, you pull it out of the showerhead and then place the already bulky speaker on the bulky dock to charge it. With pretty average six hour battery life, this can become a pain if you use the speaker daily.

Waterproof rating: Anything that is going to sit in your shower should be rated IP67 or IPX7. At IP67 (IPX7 is an unofficially tested version of the same rating), a speaker is dustproof and can be submerged in one meter of water for 30 minutes. You don't necessarily need that in a shower speaker. But it's the best waterproofing you can get and is so easy to find that there's no reason not to get something that tough.
Size: To be a shower speaker, it has to be physically small. We gave preference to models with a clip mechanism of some sort or with a vertical orientation and small footprint.
Looks: Sounds weird, sure. But we believe you should never buy anything that is ugly. We all need to be surrounded by more beauty, and the shower is not a place we make an exception to that rule.
Versatility: Another thing we rate highly is the ability to be more than a shower speaker. Our top picks are all powerful enough to anchor a pool kick-back or beach day. Sure, they'll cost more. But they sound better, and you get more use out of them. Worth it in our book.

Well, because we know our shit. We touch the newest and most highly anticipated tech before you do, we award the best gadgets out there, and we tell you what's worth your real-life money. Sorry, that sounded like we have our head up our ass. We are trying to serve you, reader. We do all this testing to figure out which products are good and which products are bad so that you can make informed purchases. We don't claim to know the most about audio frequency, compression, or any of the hyper-technical stuff. But we know what looks good and what sounds good.
