The 10 Tech Gifts People Actually Want, According to Google's Top Searches

Top Google search: "Switch 2"
The first-generation Switch was a hit. It was such that it's still stealing some of the Switch 2's shine, broadly speaking. Still, the original Switch is eight years old, and the next generation of Nintendo releases will need a more powerful platform. Thus, the Switch 2 launched earlier this year to a ton of fanfare. The new-ish console now has a larger 7.9-inch screen, more storage, and a faster refresh rate. If you want more validation that the Switch 2 is awesome, it was named the best gaming handheld in our 2025 Gadget Awards.
We also appreciate that the Joy-Con controllers now snap magnetically (as opposed to the first-gen's slide-in capabilities). To sweeten the deal, this Switch 2 comes bundled with Mario Kart World.
Top Google search: "Smart ring"
The search is broad here, so allow me to give you some direction: As someone who's been using the Oura Ring (both Gen 3 and Gen 4) for two years now, I can confidently say that it's the best smart ring on the market, and I much prefer a smart ring to a smart watch when it comes to health tracking. Similar to a smart watch—like, for example, an Apple Watch—it tracks blood oxygen levels, heart rate, skin temperature, and more. But thanks to the Oura Ring 4's seven-day battery life, it outlasts your typical smart watch by a mile. In other words, no more daily charging, and you have a comfortable form factor to wear while you sleep.
It's worth noting that the Oura Ring 4 also won a 2025 Gadget Award for its "shocking" tracking precision and easy-to-navigate health-monitoring apps.

Top Google search: "Red light therapy"
The idea that light can improve your skin sounds wild. The idea that it can improve your mood sounds crazy. The idea that it can help you recover from injuries more quickly sound's like straight-up science fiction. That said, there's an ever-growing body of scientific study pointing to all of these things. Therabody is one of the best companies selling red light treatment to consumers. We awarded the new ThermBack lower back device in our Gadget Awards, but generally speaking consumers want red light to help them look younger. The Therabody Theraface Mask is our favorite LED face mask
And as someone who uses red light daily, I can assure you that it's not bullshit. I've personally been seeing the benefits as I enter my mid-30s—for my sleep, as well. It's not some sort of miracle cure, but it is pretty close. It's definitely a technology you're going to see more and more of in the wellness world.
Top Google search: "Pixel ear buds"Consider putting the Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 on your shopping list for your Android buddies. It's rated for 12 hours of battery runtime, features impressive noise cancellation, and sports a rock-solid build quality. If you're concerned about whether these earbuds can handle those gym sessions, don't worry: It's got a water-and-dust resistance rating that should survive the sweatiest workouts—and the occasional dust storm waiting to ambush you on the way home.

Top Google search: "Home projectors"
Dad used to say, “We don't need to buy McDonald's! We've got food at home." With a home projector, he'd probably say, "We don't need to go to the movie theater! We've got one at home." The best portable projector, according to our editors? This TCL A1 GTV.
It transforms your wall into an immersive cinematic experience, complete with up to 180 inches of crisp, 1080p picture. It also has built-in Harman Kardon speakers. If you're familiar with the high-end audio brand, you know your movies and TV shows are going to sound good while looking good. (If you're not watching Black Rabbit, one of the best shows of 2025, what are you doing?)
Top Google search: "Crusher PLYR"
As someone who enjoys playing games during my off days, I know how important it is to have a headset that keeps you locked in to remain competitive against other in-game rivals.
There's a reason why the Skullcandy Crusher PLYR 720 is a fan-favorite among PC gamers: It delivers spatial audio, booming bass, and 48-hour battery life; so you can expect to game all weekend without interruptions. Any gamers (or child under the age of 18) on your list will love these.

Top Google search: "Ninja Swirl"
When a late-night craving hits and the ice cream shop is closed, they'll thank you profusely for the Ninja Swirl CREAMi. They can manage all the ingredients to their liking, from the amount of sugar and the type of milk to different fruits and mix-ins (e.g., protein powder and brownie chunks). We've done a bit of recipe testing and wrote a full review. Maybe just warn them in your card: It's as loud as a blender.
Top Google search: "Pixel Watch 4"
You may think that the Google Pixel Watch 4 is just for your Android friends, but you'd be sorely mistaken. It's a useful device for anyone who's wrapped up in the Google ecosystem (which is practically everyone at this point). It pings you about Google Calendar alerts, keeps you on track with with Google Maps directions, and lets you fire off quick replies to emails.
Similar to the Apple Watch Series 11, it also has an impressive suite of health tracking, including heart-rate monitoring, blood-oxygen analysis, sleep tracking, skin temperature readings, and more.

Top Google search: "Electric toothbrush"
To help you narrow in on another broad search, the Oral-B Pro 1000 is our pick for the best electric toothbrush. Oral-B has been making this style of electric toothbrush for decades. The company cuts through all the gimmicks and focusing on what matters the most: cleaning teeth. There's no phone-pairing for "coaching tips," nor unnecessary haptic feedback. It just gets the job done.
To top it all off, its replacement brushes don't break the bank—about $5 (name brand) or $1.50 (off-brand)—and the mechanical movement is more reliable than the sonic toothbrushes of competitors.
Top Google search: "Mini photo printer"
Ah, this takes me back to the Polaroid days (minus the waiting, shaking, and wasted film). The HP Sprocket Select—our pick for best tech gift, period—instantly transforms your phone photos into peel-and-stick keepsakes. And guess what? Ink isn't required.
