Love Island USA’s Olandria Carthen Attends US Open Wearing Micro Shorts

Olandria Carthen has become one of the breakout stars from season 7 of Love Island USA. And the internet has dubbed her a rising fashion icon. After leaving the villa we’ve been receiving look after look as the 27-year-old is working closely with celebrity stylists Matthew and Reginald Reisman. So, it’s no wonder she’s once again bringing some sartorial heat wearing the viral micro shorts trend.

In the last few years, this trend has become ultra-popular, first taking off when Bella Hadid walked around Manhattan in her micro shorts. Now, it’s a staple part of the current fashion zeitgeist, so it’s no wonder a rising fashion girl like Carthen is stepping into the trend as well. While at the US Open this week, she wore a matching tweed seat that featured a button down shirt with micro shorts. She paired the look with blue heels and a matching bag. She finished off the look with a full makeup beat and a deep side part.

Fashion is important to Olandria Carthen and she often uses it as a means to express how she was feeling while in the villa.

“With me, I've always wanted to be expressive when it comes to clothing,” she previously told Teen Vogue, looking back at how she got dressed during season 7 of Love Island USA. “All of my clothing was a little on the revealing side.” She adds with a laugh.

“I'm in my 20s. I'm going to flaunt it while I got it,” she continues. “I think I was more expressive when it came to my swimsuits. I feel like I got a lot of recognition for that by pairing it with heels and different shades and different jewelry pieces. If I have a really, really bad day, I make sure I put on the cutest, brightest swimsuits. You don't really have much time to process emotions on the island so I was just trying to process my emotions through my clothing, like, ‘We're going to be happy today.’”
