Lady Gaga set the stage on fire with her Mayhem Ball concert in New York City on August 22. She entertained the excited crowd for two hours by treating them with her music. As she reminisced about her old songs, the pop icon surprised her fans with the iconic “Born This Way” leather jacket. She revived her 2011 look and sang the album’s song, “Hair.”

Lady Gaga’s recent Mayhem Ball in New York City sent the crowd down memory lane. She served up some nostalgia with an emotional performance, crooning to her old songs. Not only that, the 39-year-old prepared a special surprise for her fans. She walked on stage wearing the popular “Born This Way” jacket.

Those who have been following Gaga’s journey for years would recognize the oversized biker jacket at once. She first donned this iconic clothing in 2011 during the album photo shoot, adding it to the history of fashion trends. It holds sentimental value for her fans; hence, the crowd at the Mayhem Ball tour concert became super excited to see their idol in that outfit.

More than a decade ago, designer Thomas Knight created the masterpiece under his label, Tom Tom Fashion. He custom-made it for Gaga, matching the album’s theme. In grey and black shade, the leather jacket stood out for its studded, gold hand-painted “Born This Way” phrase. It also included an unicorn motif in the same pattern and color before the word “Way.”

During the recent NYC concert, the songwriter-actor wore the oversized biker jacket over a black bodysuit. She covered her legs with netted stockings and long boots. Donning the look, the “Mother Monster” Gaga gave an electrifying performance at Madison Square Garden. Addressing the screaming fans, she said, “New York, you made me a star, you raised me. Thank you so much for always believing in me — it’s good to be back home.”
