Harry's Just Launched Its Best Razor Ever

If you use a razor, there is a 25 percent chance it’s Harry’s. Since its launch in 2013, the brand has grown into a men’s grooming behemoth that sells a quarter of all the razors sold in the United States. And while founders Jeff Raider and Andy Katz-Mayfield’s plan was always to change the way men shave and groom, creating one of the most popular razors in the country wasn’t enough. Since the moment the first Harry’s razor launched, its been looking for ways to improve it.

The first step to do that was controlling manufacturing. So, when the company was less than a year old, it bought a 90-year-old German razor factory to house all of its production. It wasn’t just a way to vertically integrate the company, but also so “we could invest in innovation and continue to improve the shaving experience for our customers,” says Raider. Flash forward to 2025 and that focus on innovation has given birth to its most exciting launch to date: the technologically-advanced new Harry’s Plus Razor ($10, available now at harrys.com).

The company used its factory to gradually improve the razor blades based on customer feedback, tweaking the angles of the blades, the weight, the sharpness and more. “We developed technology to shoot the edges of the blades with ion beams to clean off spurs,” says Raider. “We also invested in the process of hardening the steel so that you can get a great edge—you literally have to change the molecular composition of the steel in order to do that.” Without its own factory, the new Harry’s Plus razor wouldn’t exist, he says. And that is probably true, since Harry’s had to build an entire new manufacturing line just for the Harry’s Plus.

Of course, what makes the new Harry’s Plus razor so groundbreaking isn’t just the blades (though, let’s get real, that's a big part of it). Those blades had to be housed in a brand new cartridge, as well. “The cartridge directs how the blades lie on your face,” says Raider, “and the way the cartridge pivots effortlessly allows the blades to lie on your face at the right angles.” The five blades are positioned using progressive geometry so as it glides over your skin, it cuts hair increasingly close without irritating or pulling, and the push button connector allows the cartridge to fit into the handle securely.

The total package of the Harry’s Plus Razor, from the blades to the modern design, is quite honestly the best cartridge razor we have ever used. Compared to the original Harry’s cartridges–and others on the market–it gives the smoothest, cleanest shave we’ve found. Due to the ultra-sharp blades and smooth pivoting head, we haven’t had even the slightest hint of irritation post-shave, we haven’t nicked or cut our skin once, and even though the shave is super close, the amount of ingrown hairs we’ve noticed popping up on our necks and chins has decreased significantly.

So is the Harry’s Plus razor worth the upgrade? Whether you’re already a Harry’s user or not, it absolutely is. It may be the most technologically advanced cartridge razor out there, but at the end of the day, “we just want to deliver a really easy shaving experience to all guys out there,” says Raider. We can confirm Harry's has done just that.
