1000-Lb. Sisters' Tammy Slaton Debuts New Teeth Amid Weight Loss
Tammy Slaton is giving her smile an upgrade.
The 1000-Lb. Sisters star unveiled the progress she's made so far on getting a new set of teeth, revealing that she's fixed a gap she previously had toward the front of her mouth.
During an appearance on the Aug. 19 episode of the Creative Chaos podcast, Tammy flashed her new smile for the camera, revealing that the top row looks fuller thanks to false teeth.
And while the change was certainly noticeable, the 39-year-old explained that it's still not the final result that she's aiming for.
“They’re temporary still," Tammy shared, "but they had to cement them in because the glue wasn’t holding—well, my body was rejecting it. But they had to pull teeth."
The reality TV personality went on to reveal that the procedure she had done involved getting a bridge, which is a false tooth that's anchored to adjacent natural teeth so as to “bridge the gap” in an individual’s smile.
“I’m still getting more done with it," she added. "It’s a process.”
As for why Tammy decided to update her teeth? She said part of her reasoning was to quiet her haters' past criticism of her smile.
"Well, some of them," Tammy amended, quipping, "Haters make me famous."
Indeed, the TLC star—who also underwent skin removal surgery in June after losing over 500 pounds amid her weight loss journey—has previously called out her critics for repeatedly commenting on her appearance, specifically addressing one social media user who told her to "fix them teeth."
“With all due respect, I wish people like you would stop commenting crap like this," Tammy said in a January 2024 TikTok video. "It’s not helping my confidence. I was trying to keep my confidence boosted and seeing comments about my chin or my teeth doesn’t help.”
And Tammy clarified the reason why she hadn't opted to change her smile up until that point, noting that the procedure was too expensive for her at the time.
“I’m trying to better my life and better myself," she continued. "We should be lifting up people. It doesn’t matter if I’m missing teeth.”
Tammy added, “It’s sad. Why hate?"

Since 2020, TLC viewers have watched Tammy Slaton's journey on 1000-lb. Sisters. She underwent bariatric surgery in mid-2022 and since then, fans have continued to witness her transformation on TV and on social media.
As of August 2024, she has lost 500 pounds.
The reality star shared a snap of herself in a floral print dress on Instagram in June 2023.
That same month, Tammy posted a group photo with her brother Chris Combs and YouTuber Chelcie Lynn.
In July 2023, Tammy mourned the death of her husband Caleb Willingham. "Rip sweet angel you will forever be missed and loved so much," she wrote on Instagram alongside throwback photos, "thank you Caleb for showing me real love and happiness."

Amid her weight loss journey, Tammy continued to provide her followers with the optimism she had gained throughout her 500-lb. weight loss.
“Always remember you are beautiful,” she wrote in the caption of an August 2024 TikTok. “You are strong. You are brave. You are loved and you are enough.”
After months of setbacks that prevented Tammy from being approved for skin removal surgery, she was finally given the green light for the procedure.
She unveiled the results on a June 2025 episode of the TLC series.
One month after Tammy revealed her new look following her skin removal surgery, she shared a series of selfies from her life as of late.
Included in the July 2025 update, she showed off her new figure in a skin-tight body suit as she smiled at the camera.
