Far-right party Vox on Tuesday lodged a non-legislative proposal with Spain's Equality Commission calling for the repeal of "all regulations derived from gender ideology and woke" and, among them, Spain's 2023 Trans Law.
In the text seen by Europa Press, the party rallied against "woke policies" that "have had disastrous consequences in the societies where they have tried to be implemented."
In Spain, they argue the Trans Law has been "harmful to society as a whole, with a particular impact on women and minors."
Weather warning for heavy rain on Mediterranean coast
Spain's state meteorological agency Aemet has issued a special weather alert due to the heavy rainfall expected in the Mediterranean area from late Wednesday. It had already issued orange warnings for significant risk on the coasts in the provinces of Valencia and Alicante and on the islands of Ibiza and Fomentera.
Aemet reports that on Wednesday 8th an "Atlantic front with an associated cold mass at mid-levels will penetrate the west of the peninsula and advance eastwards to form several wind vortices in its midst over the following days, giving rise to storm Alice."
Alice is the first storm named by the new Aemet system to classify storms according to severity, naming the strongest.
