Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco spoke this summer about making little progress on wedding planning. But the couple sparked rumors this weekend that they may have completed one big pre-wedding ritual: their bachelor and bachelorette trips.
Gomez first fueled speculation when photos surfaced of her on a yacht with a group of friends in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, yesterday. TMZ noted that Gomez had only women with her, including longtime close friends Ashley Cook, Raquelle Stevens, Courtney Lopez, and her cousin, Priscilla Marie. The star wore a black one-piece with a keyhole neckline, seemingly from VYB Swim, per Daily Mail.
Her friend Taylor Swift wasn’t photographed with the group, but the singer also wasn’t seen at boyfriend Travis Kelce’s event that same day. For his part, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end was joined by his parents at a screening of The Kingdom, a docuseries about his team. Swift kept her whereabouts private—something she’s very good at doing when she chooses.
Meanwhile, Gomez’s fiancé, Benny Blanco, appeared to enjoy his bachelor party during the same weekend as hers. He posted about his stay at Resorts World Las Vegas, writing on his Instagram Story, “I’ll never forget this weekend.”
Although he appeared solo in his shots, the large spread of food in his first Instagram Story suggests he had a large group of friends with him.
While the couple hasn’t made their wedding date public, The Daily Mail ran a report earlier this summer alleging Gomez and Blanco will wed next month. A source claimed, “Selena and Benny’s wedding is going to be a two-day event in Montecito, [California] in September. “Everyone invited has been asked to bring overnight bags to stay for the weekend.”
The source said it would be friends and family only, with some celebrities like Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce, and Gomez’s Only Murders in the Building co-stars set to come.
But the wedding could also be further in the future. In August, Gomez told Jake Shane on Therapuss that she and Blanco hadn’t planned much.
“I am [excited for wedding stuff]. I couldn’t be more excited,” she prefaced. “It’s just there’s so much kind of happening in the moment with [him] working on some projects that he has to wrap up. And we just have things we want to finish in our own personal endeavors before we get into all the nitty-gritty.”
She added that she is ready to tie the knot, though: “You know, I just have never really felt so sure about something. And I also don’t want to jinx it by saying that.”
