Ben Affleck Says Jennifer Lopez Remains ‘Enormously Important’ in His Life
Ben Affleck shared rare comments on his continuing bond with Jennifer Lopez’s children, 17-year-old twins Emme and Max, three months after he and Lopez finalized their divorce.
Affleck told Entertainment Tonight at the Los Angeles premiere of The Accountant 2 yesterday that both his three children with ex-wife Jennifer Garner and Lopez’s twins came out to support him. “I’m very excited,” he said. “I love when all the kids come out. It’s really fun, it’s exciting.”
Affleck spoke candidly about his current relationship with Lopez, commending her character and role in his kids Violet, Fin, and Samuel’s lives. “For the record, Jennifer Lopez is spectacular,” he said. “Great to my kids, great ongoing relationships with them. I love her kids, they’re wonderful.” Lopez remains “enormously important” to him, he said, calling her “a tremendous person of a lot of integrity who I adore and am grateful to.”
Affleck also addressed the public narrative surrounding their split. “Sometimes I get the sense that people perpetuate this idea of, I don’t know, they want to find something negative to talk about,” he said, before shifting the focus back to their blended family. “Those relationships that you can have with children like that, that is the joy of my life.”
Affleck and Lopez became legally divorced in January. In a recent GQ interview, Affleck emphasized that their breakup wasn’t due to a dramatic event. “There’s no scandal, no soap opera,” he explained. “It’s just a story about people trying to figure out their lives and relationships.”
