Prince George appeared to be watching out for his dad earlier this month as the family stepped out to join King Charles and Queen Camilla on the Buckingham Palace balcony to watch the VE Day flypast. In a sweet moment caught on camera, George, 11, could be seen getting his dad’s attention just before the flypast began to make sure he didn’t miss a thing while talking to Queen Camilla.

George also seemed to keep his family informed during the flypast as he updated them on some of the planes that were flying over The Mall, showing just how good his aircraft knowledge is. The young prince seemed delighted during the flypast, as did the rest of the royals.

However, since seeing the sweet gesture of George making sure his dad was watching the planes, royal fans seemed to be reminded of a time when Prince Willam was kept in line on the royal balcony by another Royal Family member.

This was years ago in 2016 when Prince George was a young boy, with William crouching down on one occasion on the balcony to get to his son’s level. He was quickly urged by the late Queen Elizabeth II to stand up.

This was met with much amusement by royal fans at the time, with many taking to X - formerly known as Twitter - to chat about the moment.

One fan wrote: “Never to old to take orders from your grandma.”

A second said: “She's the boss!”

Prince George keeping an eye on his father during the latest balcony appearance may also come as a surprise to royal fans as often it is Princess Charlotte - George’s younger sister - making sure her family are sticking to the royal rules.

In previous balcony appearances, Charlotte, 10, has been seen keeping an eye on her brothers George and Prince Louis, seven, going as far as to tell them what to do.

On one occasion, Charlotte instructed Louis to put his hands by his side while the royal anthem played, and another time she was seen telling him off for dancing in public.
