Meghan Markle sends 'message' to Royal Family with subtle choice in Netflix series

Meghan Markle is sending a signal that she doesn't have to dress like "a Duchess anymore," according to a style expert who has analysed Meghan's choice of clothing in season two of 'With Love, Meghan' which is out on August 26. The trailer for the show has been released after the first season received mixed reviews.
In early March, Meghan debuted her cooking and lifestyle show on the streaming platform, as she showed the audience how to do things like bake focaccia bread, make bath salts and entertain guests. During the first season, Meghan showed off her "quiet luxury" wardrobe of tailored staples.
California-based personal stylist, Cynthia Kennedy, said that Meghan's style on season two of her Netflix show is sending a clear message. She explained: "Her revamped style is sending everyone a message that I don't have to dress like a duchess anymore. I get to dress like myself, and be more approachable, modern, authentic and real."
The stylist also described the different looks worn by the Duchess between season one and season two of Meghan's show. She explained: "Her choices feel deliberate and more like a conscious move toward comfort, vulnerability, relatability, and ease without losing that sense of polish that keeps her aspirational. It's a careful balance and I think she's hitting it."
In season one, Meghan dressed in "Put-together looks that were almost 'Duchess-lite', clean tailoring and muted neutrals". Whereas in season two, her style felt "softer, relaxed, effortless, and more lived-in."
The expert suggested: "It signals that she's not trying to perform 'royalty' anymore, but instead connect with people as a modern woman, wife, and mother."
The upcoming series once again features the Duchess of Sussex welcoming friends and celebrities to a stunning California estate, where she imparts tips on cooking, gardening, and hosting.
The first series even included a guest appearance from her spouse, Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex. It is unknown if he will return, but the second series comprises eight episodes, which will all be released on Netflix simultaneously - at midnight for viewers in the US and 8am for those tuning in from the UK.
The celebrity lineup for the second series features model Chrissy Teigen, fashion guru Tan France, and acclaimed chefs including José Andrés, David Chang, Samin Nosrat, Clare Smyth and Christina Tosi.
In the teaser, Meghan can be heard declaring: "I love the idea of spending time together and finding new ways to show people you care."
In a statement released by The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, following a new signing of a Netflix deal, Meghan said: "We're proud to extend our partnership with Netflix and expand our work together to include the As ever brand.
"My husband and I feel inspired by our partners who work closely with us and our Archewell Productions team to create thoughtful content across genres that resonates globally, and celebrates our shared vision."
