London police charge 2nd teenager in Victoria Hospital ER shooting

A 16-year-old boy has been charged with attempted murder in relation to a shooting that happened outside southwestern Ontario's largest emergency department.
The teenager, who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is currently in custody in a jurisdiction outside of London where he faces charges related to a different matter, police said Thursday.
The London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) was the site of the shooting that happened around 2:30 a.m. on Dec. 14. A truck pulled into the emergency room bay, smashing into a cement pillar. A second vehicle arrived, and multiple shots rang out, police said.
An 18-year-old man from Brampton was charged with six counts, including attempted murder, in January. Doneil Josiah Levy-Porter was also in custody in a different jurisdiction, charged with a home invasion and a bank robbery in the GTA.
The judicial process for Levy-Porter is set to being in November, police said, with a preliminary hearing.
The hospital shooting left people scrambling for cover inside the emergency room and renewed calls for better safety measures at LHSC. The hospital's interim head, David Musyj, moved to install metal detectors outside the emergency, which are now operational.

London police said the 16-year-old is charge with the following:
- Attempt murder.
- Occupy motor vehicle with a firearm.
- Possess restricted or prohibited firearm knowingly not holding a licence.
- Fail to comply with sentence.
