Innisfil, Ont man charged in summertime shooting at northwest London home

London police have charged a 23-year-old man from Innisfil, Ont. in connection with a shooting that left a home in the city's Fox Hollow neighbourhood riddled with bullets in August.
The shooting happened between 3:30 a.m. and 3:50 a.m. on August 18 on Foxridge Crescent near Hyde Park Road and Fanshawe Park West. No one was injured, police said, and the residents living in the house were not the intended targets of the shooting.
Investigators found there were 33 bullet holes in the house when they arrived.
"This incident was a terrible act of violence in our community," said detective sergeant Jon Meinen of the London Police Service (LPS) guns and gangs section. "The newly announced charges reflect the ongoing communication and collaboration that we have with our partner agencies."
The man was arrested and charged by York Regional Police (YRP), thanks in part to collaboration and evidence-sharing with LPS, police said.
YRP say they've linked the 23-year-old to two other shootings in Brampton on Aug. 26 and 31, and four shootings in Vaughan on Sept. 6, 7, and 10. YRP say he's been in their custody since Sept. 10.
Including the shooting in London, police say roughly 125 shots were fired across the seven incidents.
The accused faces numerous charges in relation to the shootings, including:
- Discharge firearm with intent;
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose;
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon;
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited device;
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm;
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a vehicle;
- Dangerous operation of a vehicle;
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000;
- Flight from peace officer:
- Six counts of discharge firearm – recklessness; and
- Six counts of possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
Both LPS and YRP continue to ask anyone who may have information or surveillance footage about the incident to contact them.
