Zeynep Sönmez, the first Turkish female tennis player to advance to the second round at Wimbledon, bids farewell to the tournament

National tennis player Zeynep Sönmez was eliminated from the Wimbledon Tennis Tournament, losing 2-0 to Russian athlete Ekaterina Aleksandrova.

At the third Grand Slam tennis tournament of the season held in London, the capital of Britain, Sönmez, ranked 88th in the world rankings, faced Aleksandrova, ranked 18th, in the third round.
Having lost the first set 6-3, Sönmez took the lead in the second set thanks to his point-winning shots, but could not maintain his advantage.
In the tie-break played in case of a draw in the set, the national tennis player lost the set 7-6 and the match 2-0.
Sönmez became the first Turkish female tennis player to advance to the second round of the Wimbledon Tennis Tournament.
