Wedding dinner turns into nightmare, 106 people end up in hospital

Guests at an outdoor wedding ceremony in the Altınbaşak town of Üzümlü, Erzincan province, ate chicken döner kebab and rice served to them and later became ill. Complaining of dizziness and vomiting, 106 people, including 10 children, were admitted to Üzümlü State Hospital and Mengücek Gazi Research Hospital. Most of the residents were transported to hospitals by their own vehicles, while others were transported by ambulance, and most were discharged after receiving medical attention.

The Erzincan Governor's Office released a statement regarding the 106 people who were poisoned by chicken döner and rice they ate at a wedding. The statement included the following statements:
Following reports to the 112 Emergency Call Center on September 12, 2025, that many of our citizens had become ill at the wedding dinner, a total of eight ambulances and 24 medical personnel were dispatched to the town of Altınbaşak. Some of our citizens who were affected by the incident also made personal applications to both Üzümlü State Hospital and Mengücek Gazi Training and Research Hospital and were transported. Following initial examinations at Üzümlü State Hospital and Mengücek Gazi Training and Research Hospital, it was determined that our citizens had food poisoning, and treatment was immediately initiated. A total of 106 citizens were affected by the food poisoning incident, and as of 10:10 PM on September 12, 67 citizens had been discharged after receiving the necessary treatment, and 39 citizens are continuing their treatment at Üzümlü State and Mengücek Gazi Training and Research Hospitals. The general health of our citizens who are undergoing treatment is good and they will be discharged after their treatment is completed.
