Praise from Putin to Trump: The light at the end of the tunnel became clear with his arrival

Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke at the Russian Federal Nuclear Center in the Nizhny Novgorod region. Highlighting his productive meeting with Trump in Alaska, Putin said, "Contacts are continuing between our ministries and companies. I believe these first steps are only the beginning of a full restoration of our relations."
Putin, stating that the course of relations depends on Western countries, said, "Our relations with the US are at their lowest level since World War II. However, I believe the light at the end of the tunnel has become clear with Trump's coming to office." Putin noted that they discussed cooperation opportunities with the US in Alaska and the Arctic region.
Putin also emphasized that the war in Ukraine was not started by Russia, but that the conflict began with attacks on the Donbas region.
