Liverpool's emotional decision for Diogo Jota! Number 20 jersey retired

While the tragic death of English giant Liverpool's winger Diogo Jota in a traffic accident has plunged the football world into mourning, Liverpool club has made a meaningful decision to retire the number 20 jersey for the star football player who lost his life.
''HE SCORED THE LAST GOAL OF HIS LIFE''
In a statement made on the club's website, it was emphasized what Jota had contributed to the club,
"The number 20 player will rightfully have a place in the memories of Liverpool's 2024-25 season title win (the club's 20th title). The player who secured the victory with his characteristic shot and goal in front of the Kop stands in the Merseyside derby played in April, scored the last goal of his life."
JURGEN KLOPP SAYS FAREWELL TO JOTA
Jota's former manager at Liverpool, German coach Jürgen Klopp, expressed his sadness at the news of Jota's death on his Instagram account.
"This is a moment I struggle with," Klopp said. "There must be a greater purpose (...) But I don't see it. I was very sad to hear about the passing of Diogo and his brother Andre. Diogo was not only a great player, but also a great friend, a loving and caring husband and father," he reminded. "We will miss you very much." Diogo Jota was sent off on his final journey, accompanied by his long-term partner Rute Cardoso, whom he married less than two weeks ago on June 22, and his three children.
