A new era at Google: News summaries will now be prepared by artificial intelligence!

Google has launched a new feature that will revolutionize the mobile user experience. It's ushering in AI-generated news summaries in the Discover feed on Android and iOS.
This new feature, developed to provide users with more context, also simplifies the saving process.
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE WILL SUMMARIZE THE NEWSAccording to Shiftdelte, instead of featuring just a single publication logo and name in the top left corner of the card, the new interface displays multiple overlapping icons representing how many different news sources the summary is compiled from. Tapping these icons opens the "More" screen, which lists all the news.
The cards only show users a three-line summary, and to see the full content, they must tap the "See more" link. At the bottom of the cards, the content is "generated using artificial intelligence and may contain errors."
In terms of structure, this system appears to be quite similar to the "AI Overview" feature in Google Search results. The cover image is taken from the photo featured in the first news story, and the title is displayed directly below the card.
The publication name, however, is presented in a much smaller font than the title, with only the timestamp next to it. This new Google adjustment provides users with more context before they click on an article.
However, this could have a negative impact on some content creators, as users might leave the platform without first clicking on the article and getting the necessary information from the summary. This innovation, currently in the testing phase, is displayed in addition to existing Discover cards and has not yet fully replaced single article cards.
Another feature being tested is the "Save" icon, which is placed directly on cards. Positioned between the like heart and the three-dot menu, this icon allows users to save content with a single tap.
Saved content is listed in the app's "Activity" tab. AI summaries and the updated save icon are currently only available to a limited number of users. Testing is ongoing in the Google app on both Android and iOS.
