The 2025-YKS preference period has begun! Here are all the details!

The 2025 Higher Education Institutions Exam (2025-YKS) application process begins today, according to the schedule announced by the Council of Higher Education and the Evaluation, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). University applicants can complete their application process until August 13, 2025.

Preferences will be made through ÖSYM's official website, ais.osym.gov.tr. Candidates will need to log in with their Turkish ID number and password to complete their preferences.

The 2025-YKS Higher Education Programs and Quotas Guide, which will guide candidates before the start of the YKS selection process, was published by ÖSYM on July 30, 2025.

The guide includes detailed information such as university quotas, program codes, score types, study durations, and languages of instruction. Candidates are reminded to carefully review this guide before making their application process.

A total of 2,560,649 candidates applied for the exams held as part of the 2025-YKS exam. Another 2,351,641 candidates took the Basic Proficiency Test (TYT), the first session of the exam.

Millions of candidates dreaming of going to university will make their choices based on the results announced on July 19, 2025, following the exams held on June 21-22, 2025.

After the candidates complete their preference process and the results are announced by ÖSYM, the registration process for the universities they are placed in will begin.
