Özgür Özel visits TUSAŞ

Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Özgür Özel visited Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc. ( TUSAŞ ).
Following the visit, Özel said, "Dear friends, we visited TAI today. We had planned a visit here after Kaan's first flight, which made us all proud. However, the terrorist attack then took place, and our visit turned into a get-well visit, a condolence visit. Then, amidst the country's busy political agenda, we visited TAI with our delegation today."
Özel, stating that TAI is the "apple of Türkiye's eye," stated that today's visit is extremely important in terms of his own preparations for coming to power.
Özel said:
"In the early hours of the morning, we listened to a comprehensive presentation by our esteemed General Manager, Mehmet Demiroğlu, which included the latest information about the institution. Then, we toured the entire campus. TAI was established in 1973, when Turkey was under threat of embargoes due to foreign policy decisions, so that we could have a domestic and national defense industry, helicopters, aircraft, and unmanned aerial vehicles, all with the technological advancements we have experienced since then, without being dependent on anyone else, and that we could even produce those that are entirely our own. From the first steps taken to achieve the Kaan, a domestic and national combat aircraft produced entirely in Türkiye, to this point, we toured and examined the facilities where Kaan is produced, Hürkuş and Hürjet are produced, our Atak helicopter, Gökbey, Anka, Aksungur, Anka-3, and our space systems and satellites are produced. Of course, we specifically visited Kaan's facilities. We saw the determination here on this issue to see the target year of 2032, when the engine is also produced here, and to see the day when Kaan can fly with its own engine. We conveyed our support.
"A FACILITY THAT WE ARE ALL PROUD OF"As I've always said, this is the apple of Türkiye's eye. It's a facility we're all proud of, a facility that has been the subject of immense effort since 1973, the second 50th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey, the work of numerous politicians, Turkish engineers, and tens of thousands of workers. It's a facility we're all proud of. Both with the factory in Eskişehir and the campus here, all of its needs must be met with the utmost care, and it's an institution that deserves the utmost attention. In this regard, our esteemed Vice President Yankı Bağcıoğlu, responsible for the Republican People's Party's National Defense Policies and who consistently highlights the importance of an institution like TAI, particularly TAI, at Central Executive Committee meetings, is working on national security policies. We're working together with him to discuss how we see them developing and implementing them in the upcoming term of our government. We're also working on how we view TAI, how we view our aircraft, helicopters, and other unmanned aerial vehicles. Our visit today was extremely important in terms of our work on this issue, what is our vision on this issue, what is our current situation, and how do we plan to bring more developed, better, and completely domestically and nationally produced products to Türkiye for the future.
We arrived early in the morning, and after a visit of approximately two hours, a little over two hours, we departed after two hours and 15 minutes, during which we took a breather from the busy political agenda, took pride in our employees, our facility, and our TAI. Kaan had just completed his second flight, and he's preparing for his third soon. We thank everyone who contributed. We remember with respect everyone who contributed from past to present, and those who are no longer with us today. We extend our gratitude to those who are with us. Thank you all, my friends. Thank you, keep up the good work.
