Israel launches new attack on Lebanon despite ceasefire

An Israeli army drone attacked southern Lebanon. According to the Lebanese news agency NNA, the drone targeted an area between the towns of Ramya and Beit Lif. No casualties or injuries were reported. The Israeli army has yet to issue an official statement on the matter.

On August 22, the Israeli army carried out a drone attack on the town of Ayta al-Shaab in the city of Nabatiyeh, close to the border, and one person was killed in the attack.

Despite the ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, which came into effect on November 27, 2024, the Israeli army has continued to launch almost daily air and ground attacks on southern Lebanon. Since the ceasefire began, the Israeli army has reportedly committed more than 4,300 violations in Lebanon. At least 245 people have been killed and 513 injured in the process.

Although the Israeli army has partially withdrawn from southern Lebanon, it continues to occupy five strategic hills it captured in recent clashes.
