Objection to scandalous decision from Izmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office

An IED and fireworks attack took place at the Göksu branch of the İzmir Nationalist Movement Party on January 2, 2017. During the investigations carried out at the scene, a torn can of cola, pieces of sooty cotton, six exploded and one unexploded firework cartridge were found around the scene.
CAUGHT FROM HTS AND FINGERPRINTS
In the investigation launched by the Izmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Terror Crimes Investigation Bureau, it was determined that fingerprints taken from the scene belonged to the suspect Murat Can T. In the examination conducted on HTS data, it was determined that the suspect was at the scene, was active within the YDG-H, the illegal youth organization of the PKK/KCK terrorist organization, and supported the coup attempt and assassination attempt against President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan that members of the FETÖ/PDY terrorist organization attempted to carry out on July 15, 2016. Murat Can T. was detained in an operation conducted on January 31, 2017 and arrested by the court to which he was referred.
ACQUITTAL DECISION DESPITE EVIDENCE
The suspect Murat Can T., who was tried at the Izmir 13th High Criminal Court, was acquitted. The court's justification stated that "as a result of the trial, since sufficient, clear and convincing evidence that would be beyond all doubt to convict the defendant of the crime he was accused of committing could not be obtained, his acquittal was decided due to insufficient evidence."
THE CHIEF PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE OBJECTED
The Izmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office objected to the scandalous acquittal decision and took the file to the appeal.
