Major investment in education in Esenyurt: Foundation of 24-classroom primary school laid

Esenyurt Municipality is implementing another important project aimed at increasing the quality and capacity of education in the district. The foundation of the 24-classroom Durmuş Döven Primary School, which will be built in collaboration with the Istanbul Governorship, Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education, Esenyurt District Governorship, Esenyurt District Directorate of National Education, Esenyurt Municipality and Reysaş Holding, was laid with a ceremony.
Speaking at the ceremony, Esenyurt Deputy Mayor Can Aksoy stated that Esenyurt Municipality pioneered this project and that investments in education will play a key role in the development of the district. Aksoy emphasized that the municipality will continue its efforts to ensure that children receive education under better conditions with similar projects.
The process, which started with the sacrifice and excavation work on May 2, 2025, was made official today with the groundbreaking ceremony. Reysaş Holding Board Chairman Durmuş Döven, Board Vice Chairman Egemen Döven, Board Coordinator Assistant Onur Kartallıoğlu and Reysaş representatives, as well as Esenyurt District Governor Fatih Çobanoğlu, Esenyurt District National Education Director Tayfun Özyolcu and district chairmen of political parties operating in the district attended the ceremony.
Durmuş Döven Primary School, which will serve as a 24-classroom primary school with modern equipment when completed, is expected to make a significant contribution to Esenyurt's growing population and educational needs. The project will add value to the district as a successful example of public-private sector cooperation.
"We mobilized all our resources"Underlining that they have mobilized all their resources for the education of children since they took office, Esenyurt Deputy Mayor Can Aksoy said; "Since the first day we took office, we have been continuing our efforts to ensure that all of our district residents, from our youth to our elderly, from our children to our women, live in a more peaceful and safer Esenyurt without any discrimination. As you know, Esenyurt is the largest district in Türkiye. This situation brings with it a large population density. When we took office, we mobilized all our resources in the face of the insufficient number of schools in our district and the increasing need for classrooms. The Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Education Complex is a major investment that sets an example throughout Turkey. It was very important to bring this investment to our district and put it into practice. It was opened and started providing services."
"We thank him on behalf of our district"The Vice President thanked Durmuş Döven, Chairman of Reysaş Holding Board of Directors, for his contributions to education in Esenyurt and continued his speech as follows: "We continue to work with all our might so that our students can receive education in more comfortable, more modern environments. Today, we are laying the foundation of Durmuş Döven Primary School. Mr. Durmuş sincerely expressed his desire to be present at the opening. I even heard one of our students call him 'Durmuş Grandpa'. In a sense, Mr. Durmuş Döven became the 'grandfather' of this school. We thank him on behalf of our district. We hope that this auspicious foundation will be the beginning of other educational investments that he will bring to our district. I would like to express from here that we also expect middle school and high school investments from him."
"The foundation of our 5th high school campus will be laid very soon"Acting Mayor Aksoy, who also touched upon the giant projects that have been implemented and are planned to be implemented in the field of education in Esenyurt, added the following to his words: "In terms of education campuses, we had 5 high school campuses in our Ardıçlı Neighborhood that could not be completed for a long time. It was very difficult to overcome this burden with the means of our municipality. Thankfully, our Minister of National Education and our government took over this project and relieved this great burden from our municipality. Hopefully, the foundation of our 5th high school campus will be laid and put into service very soon. In addition to these giant education projects, our three new primary schools were included in the investment program of the year and their works gained speed. Our children's university and vocational courses are also developing with this momentum. As of today, 33 thousand students and trainees are receiving education in our municipality's course centers. This number makes us extremely happy."
Deputy Mayor Aksoy ended his speech by giving good news to the citizens of Esenyurt: "Other important investments that our President will bring to our district are also in the pipeline. We will soon hold the groundbreaking ceremonies of our courthouse and dental hospital. Hopefully, we will all hold these openings together before the end of this summer."
