Following Güllü's death, a criminal complaint was filed by the lawyer of her daughter and friend.

A criminal complaint has been filed against those who made statements and posts that could influence the legal proceedings regarding the death of singer Gül Tut, known as "Güllü," who died after falling from the terrace of her home in Yalova. Merve Uçanok, the lawyer representing the singer's daughter, Tuğyan Ülkem Gülter, and her friend Sultan Nur Ulu, stated in a written statement that they have filed criminal complaints against those who made posts and made statements on television programs that could influence the legal proceedings regarding Gül Tut's death.
Uçanok stated that the tragic death of Gül Tut has caused deep sorrow for the entire country, especially for his clients. He emphasized that for about a month, an unfair and conscience-stricken disinformation campaign has been carried out in various press outlets and on social media about the deceased's daughter, Tuğyan Ülkem Gülter, and her adopted daughter, Sultan Nur Ulu, which is completely contrary to the truth and the evidence in the file. He continued: "This situation has virtually turned into a lynching campaign and an assassination of our clients' reputation. It has been observed that individuals who have no connection to the issue are trying to capitalize on the incident by going through various channels on visual and social media, and are making statements that distort the legal process and the truth. During this process, publications disconnected from material reality, made solely for the sake of views and clicks, not only affect the ongoing judicial investigation and violate our clients' right to demand respect for their private lives, but also cause irreparable damage to the spiritual lives of our clients, who are already in great pain and mourning and have lost their mothers. Like everyone else, we want them to experience their grief." and it makes it impossible for them to continue their daily lives in a healthy way, which they try to do."
In his statement, Uçanok stated that they requested the public to respect the legal process and the suffering of their clients, who lost their mothers at a young age, and to approach the process with conscientiousness and legality. He stated, "Any publications that attack our clients' presumption of innocence and personal rights should be stopped, and no credit should be given to third parties who seek to gain fame through the incident. To this end, we have filed the necessary legal applications and declare that all of our clients' legal rights will be exercised if similar publications continue and their personal rights are violated."
