Antalya Region My trip to ALANYA, the first marked place on my travel map and claiming to be a Paradise on Earth; hosting local and foreign tourists, is starting… As a travel writer who has witnessed 99 states of the world and a documentarian who introduces Anatolia to the world, I would like to start my words by saying “Don’t leave this world without seeing Alanya, a “Paradise on Earth”, in this breath of a lifetime offered to us. I am on the road again with my backpack, camera and provisions. Let it never stop; Yoleri Gezgin Derviş’s path crossed in Alanya this time…

Tourism is not just about sun, sea and sand as a classic choice. Even so, Alanya is the most attractive center of attraction for this choice. The plateaus located on the Western Taurus Mountains and the Turkmen Yoruks living on these plateaus, in addition to the wonderful nature, unique organic cuisine and ethnic life cultures in the region; the friendly, warm, smiling, clean, safe and hospitable relationship of the Turkish people; and alternative tourism opportunities also contribute greatly to the different and privileged regional tourism. “Anatolia, which extends from Asia to the Mediterranean like a mare’s head”; is a center of attraction for tourists with its natural wonder, rich historical cultural heritage and hospitable human texture. For this reason, Alanya has rightfully been described as “A Paradise on Earth” by travel writers and professional guides in every period of history. Although our country cannot get its rightful share of the Mediterranean tourism cake, interest in multi-star facilities that have increased in recent years and become a center of attraction is increasing. Despite the ongoing terror and dirty wars in our region; the professional successes of the state and investors signal that this obstacle will also be overcome. The negative campaigns of the western and northern countries are no longer believed by their own country tourists. In addition, in order to attract more tourists from Russia, Ukraine, China, Iran, Korea, Japan, Arab, Gulf and African countries as a new tourism potential; successful promotional activities carried out in Turkey and abroad are also indicators that the new period is viewed positively and determinedly. Despite everything; in the Mediterranean tourism geography, the Aegean and Mediterranean coastlines of Anatolia are still among the places preferred by local and foreign tourists. As the new president of (ALTAV), his devoted work for the increase of regional tourism is remarkable. In Alanya, which has inspired many poems, stories, folk songs and love-filled songs; the first stop of lovers racing with the wind; cultural and artistic events also contribute to regional tourism.
