Restrictions on the tests that doctors may request for the patient

The government, which has made the health system inextricable, has started a mind-boggling application in the name of “savings.” The Ministry of Health’s “Rational Test Request List” has been placed in the computer systems of all state hospitals and private hospitals that have agreements with the Social Security Institution. Doctors will now only be able to request tests and analyses on this list.

DOCTORS RECEIVED A REACTION

The Turkish Medical Association reacted strongly to the practice that started on Monday:

“For example, physicians working in pediatric endocrinology will not be able to request a 'triglyceride' test for a patient. These restrictions delay treatment. They both harm the patient and are a blow to physician independence. Because the physician decides on examination, diagnosis and treatment.”
