Participants were randomly divided into two groups; one group received no vitamin D, while the other group received personalized vitamin D supplements.
As a result of clinical trials in which patients' blood levels were monitored and the vitamin D dosage was adjusted according to the patient, it was determined that patients given vitamin D had a 50 percent lower chance of having a second heart attack.
The study, which tracked "major cardiovascular" events such as heart attack, stroke, and heart failure, found that 107 of the participants had developed these conditions. There was no significant difference in the incidence of major cardiac events between the two groups.
