Sun rays, sea salt, chlorine in the pool, increased sweating and hot weather are the main factors that threaten hair health.

Dr. Mehmet Erdoğan, who stated that some mistakes made especially in the summer damage the hair even more, said that extra care should be taken for the hair in the summer months and said, "Seemingly innocent habits such as brushing wet hair at the beach can cause hair strands to break and, over time, serious hair loss."

Dr. Erdoğan said, "In the summer, hair is exposed to more external effects. While sun rays weaken the protein structure of the hair, sea and pool water absorb the moisture of the hair and cause it to dry out. Combing or brushing, especially when the hair is wet, reduces the elasticity of the hair strands and causes them to break. Therefore, both protective and restorative products should be used and hair care routines should be organized according to summer conditions."

Erdoğan, who stated that the most common problems encountered during the summer months include dryness, dullness, color fading and increased hair loss, said, "In order to prevent these effects, regular cleaning of the scalp, maintaining moisture balance and using UV filter products are of great importance. With advanced treatments such as PRP and hair mesotherapy, we support the prevention of hair loss after the summer and the strengthening of hair again."

Dr. Mehmet Erdoğan said, "Healthy hair is an important element that completes a person's appearance. It is also an indicator of general health and self-confidence. For this reason, hair problems should not be considered as a temporary situation and expert support should definitely be sought."

Erdoğan listed 7 effective ways to protect hair in the summer:

"Prefer shampoos and conditioners with UV filters. "Rinse your hair with clean water after swimming in the sea or pool. "Avoid brushing wet hair, if you are going to comb it, use a wide-toothed comb. "Minimize heat styling, let your hair dry naturally. "Apply an intensive moisturizing mask appropriate for your hair type 1–2 times a week. "If you are going to be in the sun for a long time, wear a hat or use a protective spray.

"Establish a diet rich in protein, iron, and biotin."
