Citizens' pockets are on fire! Here is Istanbul's price hike champion

The Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) announced the products with the highest increase and decrease in Istanbul retail prices for June 2025. According to ITO data, inflation in Istanbul was 1.77 percent monthly and 44.38 percent annually in June. While the prices of 180 of the 336 main products in the index increased, there was a decrease in the prices of 46 products.
Among the products with the highest price increase in June, cherries ranked first with 44.29 percent. Lemons followed with 41.37 percent and swim and pool clothing with 25.86 percent. In the transportation expenses group, airline tickets increased by 13.50 percent and daily car rental fees by 11.30 percent. In food and non-alcoholic beverages, the price of fruit juice increased by 10.02 percent.
PRODUCTS THAT LOSE THE MOST VALUEAmong the products whose prices fell the most, watermelon fell the most with 31.51 percent. Green beans lost 26.60 percent and garlic lost 16.25 percent. Literary book prices, which are included in entertainment and cultural expenditures, fell 15.01 percent. Onion prices fell 11.64 percent and egg prices fell 10.15 percent.
