CHP deputies protest the 'Deli Dumrul tax' at the budget committee

The Turkish Grand National Assembly Planning and Budget Committee has begun discussions on the 36-article bill, which also proposes taxing rental income, deducting Social Security Institution (SGK) debts from salaries, and reducing state support for employers.
Before the start of the committee discussions, the CHP group protested the proposed law by placing signs reading "Deli dumrul tax" with a photo of Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek on them, on their benches.
CHP Malatya Deputy Veli Ağbaba said the following regarding the proposal:
This omnibus bill represents a denial of all the work done so far. They say, "Crazy Dumrul takes 5 lira from those who pass and 10 lira from those who don't." First and foremost, they consider the public to be fraudsters, just like themselves. They collect upfront taxes from jewelers, doctors, financial advisors, lawyers, real estate agents, and all other professional groups. They say, "You don't pay taxes. Let's extort money from the start." This is a pure fraud tax. They think the public is a fraud like themselves. Unfortunately, it's a denial bill. The budget to be debated tomorrow is also being denied. They have the authority to borrow over 500 billion.
There are still many regulations previously enacted that they now reject. Therefore, this budget amounts to ignoring Parliament's will and collecting taxes with new methods. They're doing the easiest thing: paying taxes. They're imposing fines as if people are about to commit a crime. In fact, this is what the term "omnibus law" means. They've introduced new additional taxes, from needle to thread. Unfortunately, there are no restrictions on guarantee payments. There are no restrictions on extravagance. What's the deal? There's extortion against jewelers, doctors, lawyers, dentists, and real estate agents. This is the "e-extortion" law, this is a blanket of extortion. It means nothing else. People pay taxes, doctors pay taxes, lawyers pay taxes, jewelers pay taxes, real estate agents pay taxes. We don't accept this.
The CHP group requested that the proposal be discussed in the sub-commission to be established.
