Kağıthane National Garden and Nature Park opened
With the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the "572nd Anniversary of the Conquest of Istanbul Celebrations and National Gardens Opening Ceremony" was held at the Beykoz National Garden. President Erdoğan, together with the Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum, opened the Kağıthane, Arnavutköy, Beykoz and Sultangazi national gardens in Istanbul.
Speaking at the ceremony, President Erdoğan said, "We are bringing 4 new national gardens, each of which is the product of meticulous work and intense effort, to our apple of the eye, Istanbul. May our Beykoz, Arnavutköy, Kağıthane and Sultangazi national gardens bring good luck and fortune to Istanbul, our country and our nation in advance"; he stated that the national gardens were also designed as a gathering area in case of disasters. President Erdoğan, who was connected to the Kağıthane National Garden and Nature Park via video conference, was welcomed by Kağıthane Mayor Mevlüt Öztekin to cut the ribbon. President Erdoğan stated that he closely follows the work in Kağıthane, congratulated Mayor Öztekin and wished that the national garden would bring good luck to Kağıthane.
Kağıthane Mayor Mevlüt Öztekin also thanked President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for the support he provided to Kağıthane. President Öztekin said in the video conference, "Our Kağıthane National Garden is ready with its rose gardens, children's playgrounds, sports fields, observation terrace, walking paths and social areas, Mr. President." Upon President Erdoğan's instructions, Mayor Mevlüt Öztekin, District Governor Niyazi Erten, TOKİ Vice President Ömer Caniklioğlu, AK Party Kağıthane District President Erkan Yıldırım, district protocol and children all cut the ribbon for the opening of the Kağıthane National Garden and Nature Park. Kağıthane National Garden and Nature Park was established on an area of 27,071 square meters. The project includes 11,274 square meters of green space, 883 trees, 20,944 bushes, a parking lot for 22 vehicles, a 246 square meter country coffee house, a 247 square meter country restaurant, a 76 square meter prayer room and a 58 square meter administrative building.
