Sofia Opera and Ballet, one of the favorite troupes of international festivals, appeared before the audience at the Atatürk Cultural Center Türk Telekom Opera Stage with its strong staff and impressive stage productions.

The group from Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria , received intense applause from the audience when they staged Richard Strauss's opera "Elektra".

Plamen Kartaloff's 'Elektra', one of the most powerful works of Greek tragedy ever staged, deals with themes of revenge, justice and family ties with great dramatic power.

The libretto, written by Hugo von Hofmannsthal, is adapted from Sophocles's classic tragedy, and combined with the modern and impressive musical language of composer Richard Strauss, creates an atmosphere of psychological tension on the stage.

Fredy Franzutti's choreography, Leo Kulash's costume designs, Sven Jonke's sets and Andrej Hajdinjak's lighting design introduced the audience to the dark and fascinating world of Elektra.

In the performance; Gergana Rusekova as Klytaemnestra, Lilia Kehayova as Elektra, Tsevetana Bandalovska as Chryzothemis, Atanas Mladenov as Orest, Daniel Ostretsov as Aegisth were on stage.
