🔹 AA Live for instant developmentsSpeaking to the AA correspondent on the program, Türkan Şoray stated that the book was prepared in the style of a river interview, and said, "Bircan, who prepared the book and interviewed me, has been my friend for 20 years. He is someone I am with every second and someone I love and trust very much. Such a book was his offer. I said 'yes' because I love and trust him very much. Bircan asked, I told him with all my sincerity what I felt and this book came into being."
"It was a book that sincerely tells my inner world"Şoray stated that the book was about herself rather than her career, and said, "She conveyed how she saw me, how she knew me, what she shared with me with my feelings and emotions at that moment. There were questions about my inner world. I answered those questions with all my sincerity. It was a book that sincerely told about my inner world."
Şoray, who said that the book was prepared in about a year, pointed out that future generations of filmmakers can benefit from their life experiences with this book, and noted the following:
"Cinema is what changed me, matured me, and changed my perspective on life. With this book, maybe they will realize how great and effective a branch of art cinema is. After reading it, they will see how much cinema can change a person. In that respect, I would be happy if they read it."
"After a certain age, roles become secondary and tertiary"Şoray, who also spoke to members of the press at the program, said that there are very few films being made in Turkish cinema today, regarding her not taking part in new projects, and said, "TV series are mostly on the agenda. I did a couple of TV series, they were very popular. They were roles that were appropriate for my age and I was the lead role. If there is a script that tells an issue, a social story, the story of a woman my age, I can make a movie. Such a story is not coming. We have few scriptwriters."
Türkan Şoray shared that very young and beautiful women are now being cast in TV series, and said, "After a certain age, there are secondary and tertiary roles. I don't want to play those either. As you get older, your facial features inevitably change, and your youthful beauty disappears. I wonder if I will disappoint my audience who love me the way I am."
"What was important to me was 'Yağmur's mother Türkan', 'woman Türkan'"Bircan Usallı Silan underlined that Şoray is one of the people about whom the most books have been written, and said the following:
"I had no interest in numbers in this book. I liked Türkan Şoray as I got to know her. If they had left it to me, I would have named the book 'A Journey to Türkan's Soul'. I tried to tell about her fears, her joys, her building walls whenever she wanted, her fear of hurting people, her closing doors because she was afraid of being hurt, her pushing through a crowd of people to stroke a little child's head, her heart aching in the miners' resistance, her being together with the earthquake victims, her embracing of social events and her feelings, in other words, 'human Türkan'."
Drawing attention to the fact that there is no one else in the world who has played 222 leading roles like Şoray, Silan said, "I only mentioned this as a number, but what was important to me was 'Yağmur's mother Türkan', 'woman Türkan'. Of course, we also talked about love, being abandoned, cheating, and being cheated on. Sometimes she said to me, 'Bircan, you were only going to travel to my soul', but it was a very enjoyable, beautiful journey."
