Master actor Kemal Sunal was commemorated at his grave

Sunal's family, relatives, loved ones and friends attended the ceremony, which started with the recitation of the Quran.

The artist's wife, Gül Sunal, expressed that she was very happy because of the love shown to her husband and said, "I really see very high love and devotion from everyone. I would like to thank those who are still with us. We remember Kemal every day because he is the head of our family and he is not with us. Because of this, time passes slowly for me. In fact, it has not even started to pass anymore. I feel that it is getting harder and harder. Thank God, I have children, grandchildren, and you, and I try to fill the time this way."

Sunal's daughter Ezo Sunal also stated that their friends have not left them alone for 25 years, and said, "Before I came here, a friend of mine called me and said, 'My grandfather is 82, my little nephew is 5, and they both watch your father's movies.' I think this will continue because I still watch my father with the same enthusiasm. I guess this is not an example that is seen very often in world history. Therefore, this love and enthusiasm has the same value as finding immortality for me."

Ali Sunal, the son of the master actor, stated that it gets more tiring every year.

Thanking those who did not leave them alone, Sunal shared his feelings with the following words:

"I guess people get more and more emotional as they get older. We all find a mission to live. I tell my children about their grandfather Kemal. They never knew him, they never saw him, but they love him very much. The incredible love for my father continues with the same speed and intensity even 25 years after we lost him. I see people who introduce Kemal Sunal to their 5-6 year old children and show them his movies as a heartfelt duty. I would also like to thank Kemal Sunal lovers from here."

Speaking to AA correspondent, artist Ulvi Alacakaptan said that Kemal Sunal did not get the value he deserved.

Alacakaptan, who emphasized that Sunal is an actor who has great respect for his work, said, "I give this advice to my students: 'If you are going to be famous, be like Kemal Sunal.' I think the audience is being unfair to Kemal Sunal. They only wanted to see and remember him in certain films, but he wanted to make other films as well. Our audience is a bit lazy and unfortunately opposed his request."

Alacakaptan emphasized that for him, Sunal's best film was "Propaganda" and noted the following:

"He had some fears and phobias. One of them was getting on a plane. Kemal Sunal was such a great artist that despite this fear, he even agreed to get on a plane to act in Ali Özgentürk's 'Balalayka' film. Unfortunately, he got excited during this whole process, had a heart attack and passed away. He paid this price for cinema, disregarding his own fears. Kemal Sunal is a real artist who sacrificed himself for cinema and to make better films."
