Underpass pervert arrested

The Istanbul Police Department has initiated security measures and monitoring efforts in the area after detecting numerous sexual assault and harassment incidents at the Tuzcuoğlu Bridge underpass in the Barbaros Neighborhood of Ataşehir . Investigations have determined that 14 separate sexual assault and harassment incidents occurred between 2020 and 2025. It was understood that the suspect generally targeted women who used the underpass during morning and evening hours to and from work, and that he tried to beat the victims during the attacks. Following the incidents, skin samples taken from under the victims' fingernails were subjected to DNA analysis.

Within the scope of security measures, it was determined that there had been no new attacks in the region for a while. It was determined that the suspect used a beret and a coat to hide his identity. On February 18, at around 11:20, a person was noticed running away from the point where security measures were taken and getting into a parked car.

In the investigation conducted on the license plate, it was determined that the person wasMusa İlker Yazıcılar and that he had 14 records for the crime of 'sexual assault'. The suspect, who harassed a woman waiting at the bus stop on the same day, fled the scene when the woman screamed and drove away. After the identification, it was revealed that Yazıcılar's description matched the crimes committed in the past. Yazıcılar was taken into custody in an operation conducted at his house in Pendik. The clothes Yazıcılar used to hide were seized from his house. An exact match was obtained in the comparison made with the DNA samples previously taken from the victims. Yazıcılar was arrested on February 19 for the crimes of 'sexual harassment' and 'sexual assault'.
