Tragic accident in Mardin: Man with Down syndrome hit by truck dies!

The accident occurred around 5:00 p.m. in the rural village of Gökçe, in the Artuklu district of Mardin. The truck, whose driver's name and license plate number are unknown, hit Mehmet Hadi Çelik, who has Down syndrome, as he was trying to cross the road.

The unfortunate man's body was taken to the morgue.

Following reports from bystanders, paramedics, firefighters, and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene of the accident. Çelik was pronounced dead upon examination. Mehmet Hadi Çelik's body was taken to the morgue of Mardin Training and Research Hospital for an autopsy.

The truck driver was taken into custody and an investigation into the accident was launched.
