The sea receded in Karina

Some fishing boats ran aground when the sea water receded approximately 30 meters in the Karina Region, located near Eskidoğanbey Village in Söke district, one of the important fishing centers of Aydın. It was stated that the receding sea water was due to the tidal events experienced in the region.

Local resident Nihat Kaya, who said that a similar situation occurs every year during the winter season, but this year the sea recedes more and lasts longer, said, "Those who come from outside and witness the sea water receding for the first time are worried about the situation. We have been fishing in this region since our childhood. We are used to this situation. Some people think it is due to the earthquakes centered in our neighbor Greece and they are worried, but there is no abnormal situation for us."
